I had never seen you dance,
nor had I heard your songs.
Your praises were never sung to me,
nor was your beauty ever mentioned.
Always hiding behind that satin wall,
until I met you at the mall.
Your doe-eyed glances,
so amorous yet so innocent.
Your suppressed smile,
so teasing yet so shy.
Your slender hands,
So smooth and so splendid.
Your reddish lips, rosy cheeks,
wish I was Picasso that day.
We talked about stuff so mundane,
yet it felt so insane.
As the hours trickled by,
I talked, you laughed;
you talked, we laughed.
Why did we speak all that we had spoken,
you were still an unknown girl.
It had not been foretold.
nor had Nostradamus seen it.
An evening that changed my life,
how was I to know?
you could be my future wife!
From a unknown face,
to a special companion,
the journey was short and sweet.
Time literally flies by,
as I remain immersed in your kohl-lined eyes.
